I found a great tutorial on how to use ping.fm to update the status here in LI and it is working well ... I've also been able to streamline some other service notifications. I'm not a gadget geek and I figured it out.

I've been searching a solution for a long time...

Actually the only way I know is using ping.fm that seems to be the unique posting service integrated to linkedin too.

Here here - I'll add my voice for linking Twitter with LinkedIn status. I use the Facebook application Selective Twitter Status, and it works GREAT. I definitely don't want my status changed every time I tweet, but if I could add a #li hashtag to the end to update my status too, that would be excellent.

I'm with Dave - "All I want is for my business tweets to update my LinkedIn status. That’s it!"

Someone has figured it out, but it I sure can't! and there is no help in the forums, either.

Facebook has a selective twitter update app. Any twitter update which ends with #fb updates the facebook status. I recommend something similar. This way, not all my tweets end up on facebook.

Most of my status updates are on twitter with facebook being secondary. I would like to be able to end a twitter update with, say, #lnkdn or a shorter hashtag and it show up as my Linked In status update.

Come on guys, time to catch up with the rest of the world! This twitter/linkedin request seems pretty popular but hasn't been acted on in over a year and a half.

Dirk - you're forwarding a suggestion about using the linked-in status updates on people's websites, but no response about allowing updates to be set from twitter?

I have noticed that the social-net sites that I frequent the most are the ones which also allow integration. Coincidence or consequence?

Bottom line is that I (and many others) use twitter to update status on numerous sites, including my blog. The idea that linked-in is locked out from these updates simply makes linked-in less relevant.

NB not totally irrelevant, its got some purpose for me or I would have stopped checking in by now. But it's really low on my radar primarily because of the lack of integration with other sites.
