Big fan of LinkdIn...

With regards to this integration, I would like to make the following suggestion/observation:

I am a little confused about the purpose and value of the new widget on NYT.

I am already an NYT subscriber and receive daily articles based on my NYT profile/preferences. If I were to guestimate the relevancy rate of NYT articles for me, it would range between 25% - 30%.

Peeking at the list of my recommended articles under ("NEWS for Technology Professionals") - Powered by LinkedIn - they were 100% irrelevant. (It gives you good marketing though :-)

This bring me to the general issue of your capability for personalization and recommendation. My suggestion is to improve/implement better subscriber monitoring and intelligence (beyond personal preferences, keyword searchs...) to enable real-time targeting of content with much more precision.

At a time when all of us are drowning in more and more redundant content, this would create distinct value...

Finally, it would be more useful to allow selection of connections when sharing articles...I don't know who owns the widget, but maybe you can pass that along.

I would love the ability to share outside my company network, and share to all of my connections. I've seen articles that werent particularly relevant to my current company, but past colleagues might enjoy them. However, it didn't warrant a direct email, and you dont offer an option to passively share to your network.

Great stuff though!
