A bit ‘buggy’, this new feature. First the link to the “create company” page just returns an “Oops” page all morning, then when the page does finally load, I fill it all in and it returns an “unexpected error” message, and dumps my work.
Very useful.

@dp - You must have a confirmed email address at the company you are wanting to update as well as a current position listed on your profile with that company before you will be allowed to edit a Company Profile. Click on 'Help' at the top of most any page for instant answers to questions like the one you just asked. Our Customer Service Library of Frequently Asked Questions is growing daily. How do I edit my company profile?

@haruman – It is not possible to create a company profile for a closed company as this feature is designed to support active companies with unique email domains. If I have misunderstood and this is not the case, please contact Customer Service by clicking on the link at the bottom of your homepage. They will be happy to investigate further.

I worked in a company named Sema Group a few years ago. The company has now been purchased (once) and merged with another one (once). Because of the email verification system and because the company no longer exists, I cannot create the company profile.

Unfortunately, a group named Sema is already registered (related to cars). As the official name of the company was Sema Group plc (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sema_Group), would it be possible to create the corresponding profile?

Note: I posted on this blog because it seems the current system is definitely missing something about shut-down companies…

Great addition!! Only problem is somehow our domain is associated with another company. I am getting a messgae stating “Vente, Inc.” already owns our domain!?! Anyone else getting this? How did that happen? How do you fix that?
