Next week, LinkedIn is honored to be welcoming the President of the United States, Barack Obama, to a town hall on the subject of job creation and putting America back to work.

During the past several months, the national conversation has been increasingly focused on the state of the U.S. economy.  This town hall is an invitation from the White House to people from across the country for an open exchange on one of our most pressing objectives as a nation: the creation of jobs and economic opportunity.

I recently shared my thoughts on the subject; specifically, the widening gap between talent and opportunity, and what we as a country can do to help fill the 3.2 million jobs currently available in the U.S.  I can’t think of a better way to expand that conversation than by opening it up for participation to millions of individuals interested in helping to solve our unemployment challenges.

The Town Hall with President Obama will not only have questions from a live audience, but will also include a representative mix of questions submitted by our members through a specially created LinkedIn Group for the event: Putting America Back to Work 2011.  We encourage you to be a part of the dialog by submitting your questions there.

We look forward to your participation in this important discussion.
