The 2019 LinkedIn Top Startups Are Growing Fast -- and Hiring Even Faster

Today, we revealed the 2019 LinkedIn Top Startups in the U.S. list, identifying the top 50 hottest startups to work for today as determined by billions of actions of more than 645+ million professionals on LinkedIn.

Our annual Top Startups list is a reflection of how work is changing (more than 75% of startups on the list say that a college degree isn’t required for job applicants), which new industries are emerging and rapidly growing (this is the first time we’ve seen the cannabis industry take a top spot on the list, with Dosist at #2) and where people want to work now. In fact, more than 11,000 positions were filled across the 50 Top Startups last year, and thousands of jobs are open right now

Here are the top 10 companies on the 2019 LinkedIn Top Startups in the U.S. list:

  1. Snowflake

  2. Dosist

  3. Samsara

  4. DoorDash

  5. Brex

  6. Good American

LinkedIn Editor Andrew Seaman, who writes the Get Hired newsletter, crunched the skills data from LinkedIn Talent Insights. If you’re interested in working for a startup, take a look at the most common skills across the 50 companies on the Top Startups list to figure out the best match for you:

  • Big data reigns supreme: More than anything else, this year’s Top Startups’ employees understand analytics and data analysis. And many startups are hiring even more professionals with data chops: Snowflake (#1) is looking for a growth and forecasting data scientist in San Mateo, CA, and real estate startup Compass (#9) is looking for a data analyst in Seattle, with both positions requiring candidates to have previous experience in quantitative analysis.

  • Marketing know-how: This year’s Top Startups are stocked with professionals who have digital and social media marketing experience and know their way around Instagram and Adobe Photoshop. Startups like Away (#13) and XFL (#22) are on the hunt for more brand-savvy workers, hiring for a senior manager of retail marketing in New York, and a marketing director in Stamford, CT, respectively.

  • Sales managers keep the growth engines humming: Many companies have teams of people who can nimbly navigate customer relationship management software — and several Top Startups are looking for more workers with sales skills. Trucking and transportation startup Convoy (#44) is looking for a senior account manager in Cincinnati, OH, and DoorDash (#4) is looking for a regional sales account executive in Brooklyn, NY.
